You now have control over how your AI images would look like with the new Style Tuner tool from Midjourney.
Midjourney seems to have no shortage of new features up its sleeve. It’s only been two weeks since they released the 4X image upscaling feature, and now they are back with another impressive tool called Style Tuner.
Yesterday, Midjourney announced the new style tuner feature on Twitter and on Discord.
Style Tuner is a tool that allows users to personalize the visual style of their Midjourney images. This tool allows users to create their own custom styles for Midjourney to use, making it easier to achieve specific looks and feels in their AI art.
To get started, head over to the Midjourney Discord bot and create a style tuner page using the /tune command
Next, select your preferred style direction and default mode.
The style tuner will generate image pairs for each style direction. So with 32 directions, it will generate 64 images.
Note: Generating these images uses your subscription’s Fast GPU time.
Click “submit” and wait a couple minutes for the tuner to be generated.
You will be notified once the style tuner is ready.
Click the https://tuner.midjourney.com/ link to view the pairs.
Here’s what to do next:
At the end of the page, you’ll see the final style code you can add to your prompts with the --style <code> parameter.
Here’s an example:
Movie still, the sun rising over the mountains in Hawaii, street scenes, flickr, ragnar kjartansson — style aQSbprqCB0Hi8tEa
With the code, go back to Discord and paste it into a prompt to see sample images.
The prompt will generate these sample images:
Awesome! The visual style matches exactly what I wanted.
Here’s an example using --style random:
Prompt 1: close-up portrait of a asian girl, snowfall bokeh — style random — ar 21:9
I’m not a fan of random styles, so I suggest tuning as much as possible.
Overall, I am very happy and excited about the release of this new tool from Midjourney. It is still in its early stages of development, but I have already seen many incredible examples all over Twitter.
Here are a few suggestions I can think of that could greatly improve the user experience:
That’s about it. Let me know if you have any issues with the style feature. I hope you find this article helpful!
